CELEBRATING THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF HIGH SCHOOL -THANKS TO TEAM KENYA

The joy of every family,community and nation as a whole is to see one of it's own excel in education. With the belief that education is the key to sucess, Ndhiwa community envisions a society committed towards poverty alleviation,thanks to Team Kenya. Team Kenya fully supported the 12 students who graduated through High school by paying for their school fee and providing other neccessary resources. The sponsored students were Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) from Ndhiwa. To mark the graduation,the four four leavers were treated to a small party. It was an opportunity to advise the students on how to behave responsibly. Team Kenya's partners, Ndhiwa Maarifa Center and Community Action for Rural Development (CARD) were aslo invited to the event. We wish you all the best,form four leavers!

KWDI BOARD/COMMITTEE WORKSHOP

Karibuni Women Development Iniatiative (KWDI) Board and Committee members were taken through a 3 Day Workshop to provide them with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with one another and work ahead as Board and Committee members and also to learn them of their independent roles and duties and to forge the way forward.

Using Girls' Football to Promote Behaviour Change

World Aids Day, 2011: Getting Zero;Zero New HIV infections,Zero Discrimination,Zero HIV related deaths. Team Kenya promotes behaviour change by using Girls Football in the fight Against HIV/AIDS. there was a girls football tournament held on 1st December, 2011 alongside messages on HIV prevention through speeches,testimonies and drama. Voluntary Counselling and Testing was also done courtesy of Community Action for Rural Development (CARD)

Healthy Choices for a Better Future!

The Heathy Choices training sessions carried out courtesy of Community Action for Rural Development (CARD) provided factual and indepth information on Reproductive Health with specific focus on safe sex as the most effective way to perventing unwanted preganacies and Sexually Transmitted Infections including HIV/AIDS. 16 adolescents out of school aged between 13 and 17 years benefitted from the training.

Padi Bora Video

'Padi-Bora' is a Swahili word meaning 'Better pads'. This video critically features on how Team Kenya, a charitable organization working in Ndhiwa, saw the gravy need of the poor girls in this area and decided to come up with a better solution to it, this is something that had kept most girls here out of school, something that had made them trade on sex for cash...
